The Spiral Labyrinth in Haskell Gardens

Today I will share a few shots at Haskell Gardens here in New Bedford, but a different portion of them which I have not shared before, but first a little bit about the gardens

For over 30 years, lifelong New Bedford resident Allen C. Haskell cared for this property as a successful nursery. Haskell was so known for his horticultural talents that celebrities like Martha Stewart and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis were among his fans. After Haskell’s passing, The Trustees saved the property in 2012 to protect this unique urban garden from development.

Today, the Allen C. Haskell Public Gardens feature six acres of carefully designed gardens, greenhouses, and one of the oldest houses in New Bedford, all arranged around a wide green common space — perfect for a sunlit picnic or to explore with a camera which is what I do :)

Now this area of the gardens is called the Spiral Labyrinth, and I kind of hope it is new or I am embarrased to say even though I have walked past the entrance to this area many a time, I had not noticed the sign or the labyrinth garden before.

I noticed this display the last time I was there and snalled a shot thinking it ws so cool

Then i looked over behind them and saw this patch and noticed something in the grass and thought i should check this out

I found a path to walk in there and saw the spiral laid out in the grass

and some just a clear grassy pathway

And this is the sign that is either new or I am not as observant as I think I am :)
