Learning about history is actually always in line with the hope that the generation after independence will be better and always learn so that the bitter history of a country is not repeated. Therefore, in the DIORAMA 1 room in the Vredeburg museum, it presents the movement of young intellectuals in raising new resistance against foreign colonialism. From the time of Prince Diponegoro who was a national hero, to the Japanese Occupation Period which stretched between 1942-1945.

.

As soon as you enter the room, visitors will be shown a diorama showing the 1st Boedi Oetomo Congress which was held in Yogyakarta. The congress resulted in the decision of KRT. Tirtokoesoemo as general chairman at the suggestion of Soetom and Dr. Wahiidin Soedirohoesodo as the initiator of Boedi Oetomo.

Boedi Oetomo is a movement that is touted as a way to advance education, agriculture, animal husbandry, trade, technology, industry and also culture.

After the diorama of the Boedi Oetomo congress, a diorama of at least five people was seen negotiating and being held tightly by their soldiers. If you can see the details in the diorama, it is a place that resembles a cave. And it is true that the negotiation was a strategy for war against the Dutch when the Dutch besieged Prince Diponegoro's house.

Prince Diponegoro held a war strategy negotiation in Goa Selring with his allies: Prince Mangkubumi, Prince Adinegoro, Adiwinoto, Prince Panular, Kyai Mojo, and others.

In addition to telling the story of Prince Dipoonegoro's heroism, in Diorama 1 there is also a diorama that is no less important. Namely about the Women's Movement.

This Women's Movement was pioneered by three powerful women, including: Mrs. R. A. Soekontho as a representative of Wanita Oetomo, Nyi Hajar Dewantara from Wanita Tamansiswa, and Mrs. Sujatin Kartowiyono from Putri Indonesia.

The first Women's Movement Congress was held on December 22, 1928 in Yogyakarta. In this Congress, it was emphasized that the role of women during the National Movement had a very important meaning in the fields of education, social, and politics. From here, December 22 was initiated as a commemoration of National Mother's Day.

Visitors can also see a diorama of a woman sewing with a smiling face. It is a diorama of Mrs. Fatmawati sewing the Sang Saka Merah Putih, the Indonesian flag.

There is also a Heidelberg printing machine. Which is a newspaper printing machine made in Germany that was very popular in the 19th century. This machine was used to print the Kedaulatan Rakyat newspaper in the country in 1945.

Is there anything else? Of course, in the next display case, or the next diorama, there are many more, including statues of people involved in the first bombing mission of Indonesian pilots. What does that mean? So, on July 29, 1947, 3 planes with six cadets from the AURI flight school, launched an air attack that surprised the Dutch troops. They were divided into three areas, namely: Semarang, Salatiga, and Ambarawa.

The last one is a diorama of the inauguration of General Soedirman as the commander-in-chief of the TNI at the Yogyakarta Presidential Palace.

What do you think? Isn't it always fun to walk around and learn something about our own country? Thank you for accompanying me around Diorama 1. I hope you are not bored and will accompany me on the next trip. See you.
