Hello friends in Vegan community, Today I will share a nostalgic recipe for one of the traditional Indonesian dishes in my village, called onde onde banana cake. When I was in elementary school, every day I always bought this banana onde onde cake snack, I liked the sweet and slightly sticky taste, when I bit into it there would be a sweet banana inside, I miss the taste of this banana onde onde cake.

These days I very rarely find this traditional onde onde banana cake snack, I have to make it myself if I want to eat banana onde onde cake. Today's children prefer burgers, pizza, sponge cake and other modern snacks, children are less familiar with traditional cake snacks, which is why children don't like them. Children should be introduced to traditional snacks, these traditional snacks are no less delicious than other modern snacks.

The main ingredients for making banana onde onde are white glutinous flour to make the skin, bananas to fill the inside and liquid sugar to coat the outside of the skin. The sweet taste of banana onde onde is loved by children. Coincidentally this morning when I went to the garden, I found a bunch of ripe bananas on a tree, because they ripen on a tree, the taste of this banana is very sweet, this banana is suitable for filling onde onde cakes. Some of the ripe bananas had been eaten by my birds and chickens, luckily I could still find some bananas that were still intact.

The ingredients

The bananas I use are lelet tandan bananas, these bananas are usually used to make compote, they taste sweet and fragrant. Friends, you can use other types of bananas, the most important thing is that they have to be ripe bananas.

I used a glass to measure the flour and sugar, because my balance was out of order.

3.Add water little by little until the flour forms a smooth, non-sticky dough. If the dough is too sticky or has too much water, add flour little by little to form a dough that is not sticky.

6.Cut the banana lengthwise into two parts. Match the shape of the banana pieces to the shape of the onde onde cake. Because I wanted the onde onde cake to be oval in shape, I cut the banana lengthwise.

How to make
