Might as well start downtown on a rainy but busy day! 14k steps while being pissed on doesn’t sound optimal but the news ain’t gonna deliver itself.
The day started early as it does once every 2 Thursdays. I may have been up earlier than @davedickeyyall and at it before the #morningbowl was rolled.
The corn is in the fields finally and we might like a few sunny days the next couple weeks so it is waste high by July.
I headed to town where I had my rounds to make. Right at the main intersection is a nice place to pause and enjoy the lack of traffic before the busy season.
I had to make a stop for a downtown business association coffee networking meeting. I love me some conversations with other businesses and free coffee but winning the $25 downtown dollars to spend on beer is pretty sweet too.
I love catching the parking ticket guys parking illegally. No parking and 1 minute idle limit broken but I didn’t have any tickets to write him.
Along the lines of parking badly, I am collecting photos to start a “Delivery Drivers Parking Badly” series. I understand how they just want to stop and deliver quickly but these assholes blocks lanes and main streets.
Retailers and restaurants are gearing up for a tourist season they are praying will be a big one. It was a slow rebound from Covid times and the recent trade war and ICE border bullshit could throw a damper on that but we are hoping the half of Americans with a brain are looking for an escape to enjoy world class theatre in our little town.
Steps in the garden when the rain subsides are nice. I have a #hivegarden post in the tube and my tulips are showing a little colour and might make a showing.
A trip to the dog park is also good for another thousand or so steps to pile on the rest. Forest path is looking like a green tunnel.
Most of the steps were delivering the news to businesses and doing my part to support local news.
Know what’s great after 14k steps? A nice new ipa to try and quench the thirst. This ap still screws with photos on the iPhone and tends to ignore the vertical interpretation. Good thing the beer didn’t spill out!
Join me tomorrow where we are hitting the golf course with hopefully more sum. I am trying to vault up the leaderboard on @actifit so I don’t fall out of the top 500 and a couple 10k step days might help and be a little fun for everyone.
