Eat, Relax, and Pray, that what you could read in a tarpaulin stick to a wall as I stepped out from Bokyo. Our tourist guide recommend this place as he said it is worth to visit. Do you think it is? Let me show you what's inside the SVD Farm Tagaytay.
Things to know about the Farm.
It is a five-hectare wide and was managed by the SOCIETAS VERBI DIVINI, a Latin word which means The Society of Divine World priests, brothers, and missionaries. Source.
Unlike the other tourist spots in Tagaytay, you don't need to pay the entrance fee here. Yes, it is FREE!
So let's go and take a walk around the Farm.
Beside is the Adoration Convent of Divine Mercy, and after, you can pay a visit if you are a catholic.
The moment you step inside, all you can see is magnificent green nature. Grasses were perfectly trimmed, and there was just a small trail path to walk.
Several cottages wh
There are few plants and flowers planted around. In the spacious ground, cottages were built at enough distance from one another to have privacy. We stood for a while contemplating where to start but saw this signage on my right. It says, Honesty Store. Enough to make me intrigued about what we could buy.
So the husband and I chose the cemented pathway on our right to start our tour.
Wait, I feel tired as we've been walking for the past hours hopping from one place to another. Can I have a minute of rest? I told the husband. Okay, take a sit there, he says.
This cut the tree trunk placed here to serve as seats was a bright idea. You could feel more of the countryside vibes!
Why not let us take some pictures here? I asked. Our phone battery was almost empty, so the tripod no longer functions. Hehe, 10 seconds times saves the day.
It's hard to smile, though, when you are under the striking heat of the sun.
A few steps away are potted plants in the corner surrounding small wooden kiosks.
At our back, in the previous photo, you can see the picturesque of Jesus Christ and a few rooms. I failed to ask if those are for rent or only for the management.
I think the other one is an adoration chapel. We decided not to walk nearer but detour to the cottages we saw.
We passed by some occupied cottages, and I chose not to take photos as it seemed they wanted to relax and have peace. Most are couples spending quality time and in deep talks.
The biggest cottage served as the pavilion, as it was wide enough to accommodate several people. This is one of the best spots here as beside is a made me small lagoon (is that the right term) where you can see several fishes swimming, enjoying life.
The full view of the pavilion.
Did you spot the fish?
At the back is the full view of the grotto of Jesus Christ below the lagoon.
Can't help but appreciate to the colorful backdraft made of bamboo and colorful painted.
From here, you may walk directly to the souvenir shop to buy some novelties and handmade merchandise.
Since we didn't plan to purchase any item, we left and moved back to the entrance as we wanted to go home.
Then pass by this side where a few cassavas are planted.
Still young and not available for harvesting. Since it is not just a farm but also a religious place, you can find the Jesus 12 station of the crossin one area.
A cottage is built near for convenience if anyone wants to drop here and offer a prayer. I had a place to rest afterward.
Across are several cottages, and at the top is where you can buy food. Yes, the entrance fee is free, but bringing food and drinks isn't allowed.
Since we just done eating at Island Dreamer Resort, we opted not to visit the restaurant for two reasons. One, we are both tired from walking and second, we are still full.
Yet, overall, I agree with our tourist guide. This Farm is worth visiting, especially if you want peace of mind or some relaxation away from the chaos of city life. Enjoy the fresh air, meditate have some self-reflections while re-connecting with nature. You won't even starve; all you need is here.
