Hello Splinterlanders :)

I have to say that I was really surprised that the last Strategy Corner post received so many votes. It was my record, but for me most important thing is that hopefully someone could at least read it and think about the development of the game. It wasn't just my opinion, I talked with many people in the Polish community and during my stream on Splinterlands.tv and most of the share my opinion. If you do know what I'm talking about you can check my post here .

Let's back to strategy :). Unfortunately, after so many interesting rulesets today it's one of the most boring ones. Let's see the definition and battle example.

Description:

Only units with even mana costs may be used.

This rule does not apply to summoners.

Firstly, the description of the ruleset in the game is not perfect, sometimes you got just general information which not giving you all information you need. Best way to read the full description as above from the game documentation at least once. You can check all here.

Usually, I encourage you guys to check the help site for more information about gameplay mechanisms and cards that could be good in specific rulesets. Today, we got no more information there :).

And from my perspective, I don't have too much to say either :). Of course, depending on your collection some splinters could be better with only even mana cards available, but recently with so many new cards and new sets I think, for every splinter could find some good setup. My personal favorite is Earth, mostly because of Queen Mycelia very versatile card. So maybe let's jump to battle and than try to analyze and summarize earth splinter.

I have chosen a quite standard line-up for Earth team with only even cards. It's brawl - Gold Foil Bronze Wild Frey, my collection is limited here because I don't have every card in Gold Foil version.

As mentioned I think the Earth team got one of the best even mana monsters. Queen Mycelia is very strong even on bronze level, with additional very effective magic units, and good gladiator cards (I will talk more about it in Core Team section).

Round 2, as we can see with additional armor from Queen Mycelia we haven't lost any units so far. Most of you know how much I appreciate the Immortalis (the king :) ). And even without any magic monster in the opponent's team shatter is a very strong ability.

Round 3, we lost our weakest unit with sneak damage, but the opponent had to use 2 attacks, our gladiator card get buffed, and overall it is looking quite promising.

Round 4, we lost our Khmer Princess, but overall we got a huge advantage now. After the killing of Celestial Harpy, the opponent has no option to do any damage with only the range unit on the battlefield. The battle is ours :)

Besides our summoner's choice, which surprisingly was quite useless here (but usually Immortalis is the king :D) we have an easy victory. The opponent's team wasn't so bad, maybe lacking a better focus. But the Earth team with Queen Silvia is really hard to beat. Additionally, I mentioned a very good choice for a brawl setup. Unfortunately, I don't own gold foil QUORA TOWERSHEAD, definitely the best card in the game, but you still cannot ignore BERTROL GOBSON which I used in this battle, and KATRELBA GOBSON. All those cards are even mana cards that fit perfectly for any of Even Stevens ruleset battles.

QUEEN MYCELIA, it's not the first time we see that card in the core team section. I think it's one of the best cards in the game and of course one of the best even mana card. She is powerful even on bronze level, later after receiving more useful abilities like triage, rust, and amplify she becomes a must-have card even for higher mana matches. I cannot imagine playing earth splinter without this card. Period. :)

GOBLIN PSYCHIC I think this card is still little underrated by many of the players. Only one speed for all levels up to the champion league, and not many health points. But it's just an illusion, healing is very good with low-speed monsters when you can have certainty that you will get some damage to heal. Later Goblin get very useful abilities like affliction which easily could stop Quora. Overall very solid even mana card, don't sleep on him.

KHMER PRINCESS, another card that could look quite innocent, but even on the bronze level it's a good deal to have 2 mana 1 magic damage monster. With Obisidian summoner suddenly it becomes quite an efficient killer. Of course, you cannot forget about the higher level, additional heal on silver level, and triage on diamond/champion makes her so effective support character which is a must-use for any lower mana earth team battles.

I have to say, that Even Stevens ruleset doesn't seem very exciting, maybe that's why today's post is not either :). Of course, there could be more effective setups depending on the splinter, but I think the difference between them will diminish as new sets are added to the game. So far my small top 3 splinters for Even Steven's ruleset are Earth, Death, and Life. So usually if any of them are available I started from that order. But as I mentioned above it is very depends on the collection you have, with some other older cards you still have a very solid team for all the colors.

Another thing, I'm curious what will be the next topic for Battle Mage Secrets after we finish all rulesets? Any idea guys?

I hope you like this kind of battle and strategy presentation. More strategy analysis, discussion, and prediction games you can find on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. You can check the schedule here

If you have any comments, please do not hesitate. Do you think I could improve anything just tell me :)

We continue our game from the previous week, today new battle, new card to win :).

I come to some idea, I hope you will like them and participate. Every week I will publish one battle, and your goal is to point out the first victim of the battle and who will be the winner. This game is exactly the same as my prediction game which I run on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. I know that not everyone can attend the stream, so I hope you will still have fun in that way. More about the rules can be read here.

Among all participants who get the correct answer, I will randomly (probably on my Wednesday stream) choose one winner.

The prize of the blog prediction game for the lucky winner will be the epic card:

Here we got the battle:

)

Game instruction:
Try to point out which monster will die first on the battlefield and who wins the battle

  • t - top player
  • b - bottom player
  • number - order counting from the first position

Examples: t2b = monster on the second position of top player die first, the bottom player wins b6t = monster on the sixth position of bottom player die first, the top player wins t3t = monster on the third position of top player die first, the top player wins
